This is great Adrian ... I love the ease of Dropbox - my friend just saved my party photos in Dropbox for me to download at will ... Far more convenient & very user friendly! Great idea to have this as a 'regular' column too!

Thank you for your comment Michael. We are in the early stages of an iTunes U project. It is important that if we join the service that we have a sustainable approach - therefore a lot of work is being done in socialising the idea. We will need to have unique and interesting content and functional workflows as well as good quality graphic design, copyright control, and technical processes. We are extremely influenced by the UK JISC funded Steeple Project - who have researched this area extensively. Take a look - some really good info.

I found the presentation to be very informative and it showed how far mobile devices and ease of use have come.

When will USQ publish content on iTunesU?

Re ebooks - note that USQ's ICE system has rudimentary support for epub.

You might also be interested in work on this in the UK which I was involved in. Creating EPUB for teaching and learning purposes is still reasonably technical. http://jiscpub.blogs.edina.ac.uk/ (left off link in original comment)

I think if iPad / Android tablets can be considered they may make adoption faster because many eReaders (such as Kindle) are tied to strict geo location and makes them less viable option for many who wants to buy. After all, many people I spoke to about this told that with iPad or Galaxy they can do more than reading books and therefore feel their purchase is more worthy.

Hopefully when new iOS newsstand comes out we will have more of the ebooks and magazines to read. And hopefully after that we can have books published there too so that we can actually use it for educational purpose.

I think the "ugly" square look is preventing QR code from going mainstream.
Unfortunately current image processing requires it to be boxy unless our phone gets even more faster processor than may be we can have designed QR codes and make them spread more?

But I am yet to see it being used in educational purpose.

Really good Liz. I think while keeping it simple you have also checked the another box - trust.
By telling people you are new and you are trying you already can gain the trust from your future readers and they will come back knowing that here is a place they can get honest opinion.

Congrats.

Well done Liz
I agree that blogging is a fantastic way to express your thoughts and opinions and like anything new that we try it feels strange or awkward at first, but after some practices it becomes very natural. I look forward to reading your next, more comfortable post
